The Heart Behind Better Life
Charmissa (pronounced Charles + Missy) Denise Elizabeth Washington Biscoe was born and raised in Winchester, Virginia, the daughter of Charles and Sharon Washington. She accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior at the age of 12 and officially answered God’s call to ministry in December 1999. She was licensed into ministry on June 25, 2000.
In June 2005, Charmissa married her husband, Kevin, and together they share a life filled with love, laughter, and a shared passion for motorcycles. They are the proud parents of three and the joyful grandparents of five, and the pup-parents of Beagle Boarder Collie named Kiyah..
Charmissa holds an Associate Degree in Graphic Design from Hagerstown Business College and a Bachelor’s Degree in Sociology from American Public University. She is a Certified Life Coach through the Life Purpose Institute and a Certified Grief Recovery Method® Specialist through the Grief Recovery Institute. Committed to ongoing growth, she is currently pursuing her Professional Coaching Certification through the Life Purpose Institute.
After experiencing significant personal losses—including her grandfather, both of her parents, and two close friends—Charmissa found herself asking a life-altering question: “Who am I now?” That question became the foundation for her passion and purpose.
Out of that journey, Better Life Coaching and Grief Support was established.
Through her work, Charmissa compassionately walks alongside individuals who feel stuck—whether due to grief or life’s everyday challenges. She offers both individual and group programs using the Grief Recovery Method®, along with coaching designed to help people move forward with clarity, healing, and purpose. She continues to expand her offerings to equip and encourage others to truly live a better life.
Better Life Coaching and Grief Support is part of her larger ministry, Commissioned for Christ, which also includes her love for photography and creative expression through custom-designed crafts.
Above everything, whether coaching, ministering, capturing moments through photography, or creating meaningful designs, my desire is always to be a steward who:
SEEKS- first the Kingdom of God and His righteousness. (Matthew 6:33)
SERVES - God by helping others live a better life. (Hebrews 13:16)
STRIVES - to please God in all I say and do. (Psalm 19:14)
STRUCTURES - my life to accomplish the tasks that God has laid before me. (Ephesians 2:10)
