A little more about me...
I was born Charmissa (Pronounced Charles + Missy) Denise Elizabeth Washington and was raised in Winchester, VA, the daughter of Charles and Sharon Washington. I accepted Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior at the age of 12. I accepted God’s call to the ministry (officially) in December 1999 and was licensed into ministry on June 25, 2000. In June 2005, I married Kevin Biscoe. We share an amazing life together of love, laughter, and motorcycles. Together, we are the proud parents of 3, Robert, Tasha (Billy), and Tyrell (December), and the doting grandparents of 5, Amani, Amaya, Shawn, Aryanna, and Norah. We are also pup parents to Kenai, Mr. Butch, and Kiyah.
I hold an Associate Degree in Graphic Design from Hagerstown Business College, a Bachelor’s Degree in Sociology from American Public University, a Life Coaching Certification through the Life Purpose Institute and a Certification in The Grief Recovery Method ® through the Grief Recovery Institute. Recently, I returned to Life Purpose Institute and am currently pursuing my Professional Coaching Certification. I am committed to continuous personal and professional growth.
Recently experiencing my own life-changing losses, I just kept asking, "who am I now?" And that made me want to focus on helping people pick up the pieces after the devastation of death. Using my understanding of the recent losses of my grandfather, both my parents, and 2 very good friends, my goal is to show compassion as I help others navigate through their own grief. It is because of this that Better Life Coaching and Grief Support was established. Currently, I coach clients who find themselves stuck rather because of grief or just good ol' life roadblocks. I also offer the Grief Recovery Method® for groups and individuals and am currently working to add more programs and offerings to help and encourage others to live a Better Life.
Additionally, my passion for guiding and uplifting others extends across multiple areas. Better Life Coaching and Grief Support is part of my larger ministry, Commissioned for Christ, which also includes my love for photography and creative expression through Cricut-created crafts. Above everything, whether coaching, ministering, capturing moments through photography, or creating meaningful designs, my desire is always to be a steward who:
SEEKS- first the Kingdom of God and His righteousness. (Matthew 6:33)
SERVES - God by helping others live a better life. (Hebrews 13:16)
STRIVES - to please God in all I say and do. (Psalm 19:14)
STRUCTURES - my life to accomplish the tasks that God has laid before me. (Ephesians 2:10)
